Just a few words from Jennifer, the talented lady behind Mignonne Handmade, about the inspiration for her latest offering “For this collection I was inspired by the soft colors of the southwestern desert. I wanted to use turquoise as it is a significant stone of the southwest and also include all the dusky peaches, pinks and grey purples of the Arizona sunset, but with a softer bridal feel. Our new crowns have a thorny yet soft feel, like the plants of the desert. They were heavily influenced by the moonscape of the desert along with all the blossoming softness of the desert in springtime.”

Captured by Rachel Solomon Photography these images are hauntingly beautiful and perfectly convey the romance of these statement bridal headpieces…..

Timelessly Romantic Wedding Inspiration from Keestone Events

If you’re a lover of peonies, pretty pinks and romance then today’s shoot from Keestone Events and Allen Tsai Photography is most definitely for you! Full of timeless short bridesmaid dresses uk wedding styling, romantic details, lush floral design (including not one but two flower crowns!) and a wedding dress with the most beautiful lace train, it is guaranteed to make your knees weak…..1 Timelessly-Romantic-Wedding-Inspiration-from-Keestone-Events

Sarah from Keestone Events set out to create a shoot with a slightly darker and more sophisticated take on romance. From the lovely lady herself “We used red pops in the cushions that accented the table, florals, invitations, flowers for the cake, lipstick, bride’s hair – yes, that is a real, giant, beautiful peony! – and other aspects like the bouquet and boutonniere. Watters, the dress designer, provided the bridesmaids outfits and the amazing bridal gown.”

She found the perfect spot to bring her intimate and ethereal vision to life at a local nature reserve. A little clearing amongst the rambling brambles and thorns allowed the pops of pink and beautiful lace of the wedding dress to really stand out. The Southern Table created the lovely florals, Rent My Dust provided the fabulous vintage rentals (I am more than a little in love with that chair!), The Bees Knees designed the stunning stationery, whilst the beautiful wedding cake came from Panini Bakery (the icing decoration is just SO pretty!) and all of the ladies were made to look especially lovely by Beauty and the Blush.

Captured so perfectly by Allen Tsai Photography uk bridesmaid dresses I know you will love this shoot just as much as I do, so I hope you have yourpinning finger at the ready!…..

Snippets, Whispers & Ribbons – 20 Beautiful Art Deco Bridal Bouquets

Today’s post couldn’t be any prettier! As we continue our look at all things Art Deco, today it’s time to swoon over some truly beautiful bouquets. And its fair to say the glitz, glamour and luxury the era is renowned for, was just as evident in the wedding dresses nz bouquets as it was in the fashion of the time – we’re talking oversized, opulent and oh so perfect! Here are 20 modern day takes on the Art Deco bridal bouquet by some of the very best florists in the business…..

Shower (or Cascading) Bouquets

Entering fashion toStorewards the end of the Edwardian era, Shower bouquets hit their peak of popularity in the 1920s and 1930s. Opulent and beautifully structured they have always been the bouquet of choice for a formal wedding, but with the addition of rustic, seasonal foliage they can be given a more relaxed look perfect for today’s modern bride. The size and length of the cascade really depends on personal choice, budget, your biceps (some of them look SO heavy) and of course how much of your dress you are willing to hide ball dresses nz!…..

Sheath Bouquets

Made popular in the 1900’s, and known for a time as the Bernhardt bouquet after the many bunches of blooms presented to much adored French stage and film actress Sarah Bernhardt, the Sheath or presentation bouquet has a distinctly vintage feel and a timeless elegance. Vertical in shape and created with long-stemmed flowers, it is usually carried rested in the crook of your arm – but it can look equally beautiful, for more relaxed portraits, held by the stems with your arm dropped by your side. Choose flowers like roses or cala lillies for a formal and more traditional look, or choose a mixture of flowers in a romantic vintage palette for the more organic ‘just picked’ look that is so on trend at the moment…..

Vintage Inspired

If neither Shower or Sheath bouquets are for you, it is possible to give hand tied and round bouquets a hint of vintage. The addition of some feathers for a flapper inspired feel, cascading ribbons for a more budget friendly shower-style bouquet or even just the type and colour of the flowers you choose – Cala lilies immediately evoke the Art Deco era and of course roses, especially in dusky shades, will add some vintage charm to any bouquet…..

An Enchanting Elopement in Venice from Archetype Photography

Ooh do I have something special for you today! Something seriously swoon-worthy; with an air of magic and positively brimming with romance. Ladies, this gorgeous elopement not only features beautiful heels by Chic Vintage Brides sponsor Bella Belle Shoes, but also a bespoke red wedding dress by one of my very favourite designers Joanne Fleming; and with images fromArchetype it is absolutely guaranteed to get your heart racing!…..1 Beautifully-Romantic-Venice-Elopement

See what I mean?? Stunning! With a lifelong wanderlust bridesmaid dresses nz, and a desire to see Venice since they started dating (back in in highschool!), husband & wife film photography team Koby & Terilyn Brown, of Archetype couldn’t miss the opportunity to collaborate with one of their favourite stylists and create something magical whilst they were there.

To tell us a little more about it, the lovely  Valerie of Sapphire Events “This is an elopement inspired by the romance and mystery of the city of Venice! Using a gorgeous red gown, custom made for the shoot by Joanne Fleming Design, we set the stage for this inspiration in the misty first light of day at St. Mark’s Square off the Grand Canal. I flew in with a red wedding cake from Melissa’s Fine Pastries, from across the pond in New Orleans, to this extraordinary locale. I wanted to play up the movement of Joanne’s gown and have this really be the statement piece of the shoot, standing out amidst the muted and natural tones of the city’s well-worn architecture and the soft green and blue tones of the canal waters.

I used Silk & Willow‘s indigo dyed ribbon on the bouquet to play up the color of the water flowing in the streets from , and kept the shades of the florals light and airy with a heavy focus on the beautiful ranunculus sourced from a local vendor – right at the base of the clock tower in St. Mark’s Square. We sourced the table and chairs locally from one of the plentiful restaurants hiding around every turn, and brought movement into the tablescape with the blush colored muslin runner by Silk & Willow to mimic the movement of the silk organza bridal gown and cape. The gorgeous calligraphy stationery from Laura Hooper complemented everything flawlessly and the finishing touch was a pair of the most glamorous and perfectly coloured pair of bridal shoes from Bella Belle Shoes.”

‘Sea of Love’ – Heavenly Beach Wedding Inspiration from Melanie Gabrielle Photography

A beach wedding may not be your idea of heaven, especially in Winter, but I suspect you will be dreaming of a celebration by the sea after seeing this beyond beautiful inspiration shoot from Melanie Gabrielle! In an exquisite palette of blues and neutrals and chock-full of lush blooms, modern-vintage styling, as well as the sort of lovely light you only ever get where the sky meets the sea; it is beach wedding with a delightful whimsical twist…..1 Sea-of-Love-A-Heavenly-Beach-Wedding-Inspiration-from-Melanie-Gabrielle-Photography

From Helen & Melissa of Ever After Floral Design… “The inspiration for this lovely photo shoot was born out of the idea of a winter wedding on the beautiful beaches of South Florida. Beach weddings are common in Florida, but we wanted to use the beach solely as a backdrop, showing that a beach bridesmaid dresses nz doesn’t have to be “beachy”.

Since winter is traditionally associated with Christmas and the Holidays, it was our main goal to create a winter wedding décor that excluded the usual reds, greens, and pine. We achieved this with a palette of grays and muted blues. We also incorporated some whimsical details that are not usually seen at a beach wedding, including antlers, bunnies, mismatched china, and vintage silverware. Mercury glass centerpieces filled with delicate peonies and brunias were created for an elegant and timeless look, while contrasting textures added a whimsical element.

Since the mood we wanted to create for this winter wedding on the beach was warm, cozy, whimsical, and inviting, we designed and styled a picturesque fireplace setting with pieces from Love in Vintage, which added to the ambiance. And we filled a wooden chest with throws, socks, and scarves for the guest to keep warm and get cozy with.

Sugar Fancies created a unique array of sweet confectioneries, which included a whimsical two-tiered cake, chocolate mousse, heart shaped s’mores, tarts, and white chocolate bark. An adult hot chocolate bar was setup for guests to enjoy a spiced hot chocolate drink as they selected ingredients to roast delicious s’mores by the fireplace. We used a gray farmhouse table as the main reception table, and accented mismatched chairs and armchairs at the end; the whimsical printed plates fromanthropologie and the stationery from Rock Paper Sisters, LLC tied the whole look and feel together prom dresses nz.”
